Is micro1 legit? Six checks for companies before you license your data

Quick answer

Yes. On six checks a company can verify itself, micro1 is a legitimate, well-funded programme. It raised a $35M Series A in 2025 and a reported $100M+ round in 2026, has made a public $1bn commitment to license company data, and publishes its tiers, referral terms and payment timing. It pays companies; companies never pay it. Legit doesn't mean you'll be accepted, or what you'll be paid: micro1 decides both.

Why we're not neutral: TrackImpact may be paid a referral fee by micro1 if a company we introduce is accepted. That's why every check below is one you can verify yourself, with the source linked.

01Check 1: a real, funded company

micro1 is a San Francisco company led by CEO Ali Ansari. It raised a $35M Series A at a $500M valuation, led by O1 Advisors, in September 2025. In September 2026, Forbes Australia reported a further round of more than $100M at a $4B valuation, citing people familiar with the deal; micro1 declined to comment.

02Check 2: a public commitment

On 9 October 2026, micro1 announced on its own blog a $1bn, 12-month commitment to license company data. A company putting a commitment that size in public, under its own name, is easy to hold to account.

03Check 3: published terms

micro1 publishes its terms on its own site, where anyone can read them:

  • company tiers: $100K–500K, $500K–2M and $2M+;
  • referral terms, with an update date, on its company referral page;
  • payment timing: 30 days to approve data after transfer, then payment within 30 days of invoice.

04Check 4: money flows one way

Who pays whom: the programme pays your company a licence fee for the data, and pays TrackImpact a separate referral fee. Nothing comes out of your payout.Your companyProgrammeTrackImpactData, under licenceLicence feeReferral fee, paid separatelyNever from your payout
The referral fee is paid by the programme, separately. It never comes out of your payout.

micro1 pays the company: it approves the data within 30 days of transfer, then pays within 30 days of your invoice. Companies never pay micro1. If anyone asks you for an upfront fee, a "registration charge" or payment to "unlock" an offer, treat it as a red flag.

05Check 5: what happens to your data

micro1 says:

  • companies keep ownership of their underlying data;
  • it de-identifies data before sharing it;
  • it won't resell or distribute data until personal and identifying information has been anonymised.

Those are micro1's published statements. The contract is what binds both sides, so read its use, exclusivity, retention and deletion clauses, and have your lawyer review it. See is it legal?

06Check 6: the real micro1

Scammers impersonate well-known companies. Before you share anything:

  • Emails should come from a micro1.ai address.
  • Apply through micro1's own site, or a link that lands there.
  • Never send passwords or logins by email, to anyone.

07What "legit" doesn't mean

  • It doesn't mean you'll be accepted. micro1 reviews every company.
  • It doesn't tell you what you'll be paid. micro1 prices each partnership individually, and nothing is guaranteed.
  • It isn't the only programme. See the programmes comparison.

08Check whether you're likely to match

Our free fit check asks about your size, location and records, then shows which programmes you're likely to match. The programme decides.

09Questions people ask

Is micro1 a scam?

No. It's a funded company with a named CEO, a public $1bn commitment and published terms. But scammers can impersonate any well-known company, so check that emails come from micro1.ai and that you apply through micro1's own site.

Does micro1 charge companies?

No. micro1 pays companies for approved data. Anyone asking you for an upfront fee to join micro1's programme is a red flag.

Who owns the data after licensing?

micro1 says companies retain ownership of their underlying data. You license a copy under a contract, so read its use, exclusivity, retention and deletion clauses.

Is this about micro1 jobs?

No. This page covers micro1's programme for companies licensing their data, not its work for AI trainers.
